The Department of Logopaedics of Athens Metropolitan College is the only academic department of a private educational institute that participates in research activities run by a state university. Specifically, the teaching staff and students of the Logopaedics department take part in research projects that are carried out at the School of English Studies (Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics) of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. These research programmes involve the investigation of language acquisition by children with language disorders and bilingual children as well as the creation of language tests, aiming to contribute to both the scientific and professional field of communication disorders.
